LOLA FALANA
Lola Falana is a name that may no longer be familiar to the new generation, but it has resonated for many over the decades. It would seem that dancing and singing is in her blood as she had been performing since she was six years old. She didn’t finish high school because she wanted to pursue a career in show business. She worked in Harlem clubs until she was spotted by Sammy Davis Jr., who propelled her to the limelight.
Falana appeared in the Broadway show Golden Boy and later recorded her first single called My Baby. Her first film was A Man Called Adam and from there, she made a career in various Italian movies. She has also earned her first nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for her performance in The Liberation of L.B Jones. Though she had a stellar career, she lost some roles after being diagnosed with an illness. Though she hasn’t been acting for twenty years, the actress has found a different outlet and that is talking about her being a Roman Catholic as she uses her investments to travel around the world.
