JENNIFER BEALS
Jennifer Beals has risen to fame for her performance in Flashdance, one of the highest grossing films of the 1980s. The actress got a degree in American Literature from Yale University before she continued her acting career. She earned a nomination for her work in Flashdance. She later followed this with the film The Bride, where she starred with the singer Sting. Her other films include Vampire’s Kiss, Devil in a Blue Dress, The Book of Eli, Four Rooms, The Grudge 2, and The Last Days of Disco.
Beals landed yet another successful role when she was cast in the show The L Word, wherein she insisted that her character should be biracial which helped more biracial actors appear on screen. Her latest works included in the TV show Taken and The Last Tycoon. Though Beals hasn’t been that active in acting, she has found other activities to do such as being a gay-rights activist as well as a tri-athlete.
