BARBARA EDEN

Whenever someone says I Dream of Jeannie, it is likely that they are referring the actress most associated with the role, the iconic Barbara Eden. Prior to starring as the beloved genie, however, Eden was a semi-regular cast member on shows such as I Love Lucy, Highway Patrol, Crossroads, Gunsmoke, The Andy Griffith Show, Saints and Sinners, and The Rogues, among many others.

It was in 1965 when she was offered the role in I Dream of Jeannie. The program was on air for five years and had over 139 episodes. Eden was on board from the beginning to the very last scene. Her success continued even after the program, though she eventually chose a more private life later on. Thanks to her excellent money management, she was able to do so without worry. In 1988, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
