MEG RYAN

Meg Ryan is an actress and producer who was an iconic staple during the late ’80s and early ’90s. Before joining the cast of the CBS soap opera As the World Turns in 1982, Ryan began her acting career in 1981 in minor roles. The internationally-renowned actress rose to fame in the ’90s, and she landed several leading roles in films such as You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, and When Harry Met Sally. She earned her first Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance in the latter. Because of her continuous success in films, no one thought her career would soon meet a dead end. As it turned out, Ryan’s fame began to fade as her subsequent projects didn’t do well in the film industry.

Despite her beautiful reputation as an excellent actress, consecutive failure to deliver the right materials ultimately led to Ryan’s acting career demise. She later took part in lesser-known movie productions, including Against the Ropes and In the Cut, to revive her A-list status. In the end, these movies came short of credit.
