RIP TORN

Actor Rip Torn had a pretty successful career in Hollywood spanning over 60 years. He earned a reputation as an actor’s actor on stage, both Broadway and off-Broadway, and on-screen. Torn had brought home numerous awards and recognitions for his acting ability. One of his notable performances was when he played Artie’s role on The Larry Sanders Show—recognized as Marsh Turner in the bio romantic drama Cross Creek and other famous films, Men in Black, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

He was always in demand as a character actor, supporting the second lead and occasional lead roles. But his film debut was in the 1956 Baby Doll. The actor also made several appearances in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, Torn had to quit acting after an incident that took him into custody for breaking into a Litchfield Bancorp branch in Lakeville, Connecticut. Still, with the help of his lawyers, he got over it. Rip Torn passed away on July 9, 2019, at age 88.
