When it comes to Lee Majors, it’s hard to pick just one role that helped define his career. For many, however, there are several performances wherein he truly shone as an actor. The first of which would be that of Heath Barkley in the series The Big Valley. Second to this is his role in the iconic The Six Million Dollar Man as Colonel Steve Austin.

While the injury that ended his college athletic career may have been quite a blow for Majors, it’s quite amazing to see what it has since led to. After all, he graduated with a degree in Physical Education and History and had been planning to be a football coach before Hollywood came calling. He has since slowed down a bit when it comes to acting, but you can’t keep a good man down for too long!
