The famous TV host used her existing popularity as a celebrity as a leverage to start her own gig. Ellen started out as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s before landing her own show, Ellen. The show was a major hit and many considered her as the female Seinfeld. After gaining success worldwide and the regular appearances of big Hollywood names on her show, Ellen has never had to worry about money ever since.
