Simon Cowell is a big name on TV, having a $600-million net worth from various endeavors. If you are a big fan of Britain’s Got Talent or X Factor, there is a good chance that you already have heard of him and even know how hard he is on the participants. But before he became what he is now, he started working for several odd jobs.

The British music executive and television producer has been one of the most successful media personalities in the music and television industry in the last 30 years. On average, he earns about $50 to $100 million a year. Many know Cowell for being a very harsh critic of the contestants who join shows like American Idol and The X Factor. Keep in mind, though, that he can take credit for the successful careers of more than a few celebrities, like the famous boy bands Five, Westlife, and One Direction. We think he won’t be retiring anytime soon.
